LEVY BALLOTS should be at your home now We know the message sounds familiar -- we say it every time a school levy is on the ballot. But it's true: This one is the most important one yet. Our state faces unprecedented budget challenges (legislature is trying to close about $3B in budget deficit) -- and while BASIC education is funded, things like our seven period class day, contractual obligations, and much more depend heavily on this special funding issue.
This is a REPLACEMENT levy, so it is not something that will add substantially to your property tax bill.
If you have received the ballot (roughly 5x8 envelope with a large green stripe on the cover), PLEASE BE SURE TO MARK BOTH SIDES OF THE BALLOT. Part ot the school district levy is continued on the back side, and there is little indication of the continuation on your ballot.
If you are able to volunteer time to help us reach out to voters in the district who do not have the same passion we do for this issue, we want to hear from you. A couple of hours on a volunteer phone bank with other parents, students & teachers would be very helpful and may mean the difference in a successful outcome on this very important issue.
REMEMBER: BALLOTS MUST BE POSTMARKED NO LATER THAN FEBRUARY 9th, or you can deposit them in person at a special collection box outside the Library @ Crossroads Mall.

FEBRUARY 8th Math Textbook Guided Tour & Discussion BSD is still soliciting parent input on math textbooks to be adopted (the pilot program begins next fall for some grades). A feedback meeting is being held February 8th @ International School.
