Newport High School Grant Committee

​The Newport High School PTSA prides itself in supporting our teaching staff!
 
The Newport High School PTSA grant committee’s focus is to evaluate teacher requests relating to additional tools, items, or events that could enhance the delivery of BSD approved curriculum, but which items fall outside of the scope of funding provided by state or district funds or even Bellevue Schools Foundation.
 
Your donation makes the difference! Newport PTSA’s primary opportunity to raise funds for this effort is at Newport High School’s curriculum night. Teachers have the opportunity to share with parents the additional items they’ve had the opportunity to acquire as a function of the Newport High School PTSA grants. Although this ask happens at curriculum night, donations are accepted any time throughout the year.

  Criteria Considerations:
§  What department is making the request?
§  Does the request directly relate to curriculum for the teacher making the request?
§   Are alternate sources of funds available if the grant not awarded?
§   How does the awarding of the grant support “hands-on” activities?
§   Can the application of funds be used by another teacher and or another year?
§   How much is being requested?
§  Is there a more efficient way to accomplish the request?
§  Has there been a fair evaluation of requests and rewards across departments?
 
 
Application Process
The grant application process is an online process and Monthly
1.     Submit request and additional documentation (photos, diagrams, etc.) via email to: [email protected].
2.    Submissions are welcome anytime. Link to grant application form here
3.    Evaluation of requests happen at the Monthly Newport High School PTSA Board of Directors meetings.

 
Review Process and Notification
1.     The Grant Committee will review all applications and make their recommendations to the Newport PTSA Board of Directors.
  • Please provide a good email address as follow up questions may be required.
2.     If the grant is awarded, we will notify you via email, along with the instructions for use/reimbursement.
3.     Awards must be used by the deadline specified or the grant must be reapplied for.
